As part of our dedicated team, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Computer Technician to provide technical support and assistance to our clients. Job Description: 1. Hardware and Software Installation: Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware components, including CPUs, RAM, hard drives, motherboards, and peripherals, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Install, upgrade, and configure operating systems, software applications, drivers, and utilities on desktops, laptops, and servers, following established procedures and best practices. 2. System Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and security enhancements, to ensure the stability, security, and reliability of computer systems and networks. Conduct hardware and software upgrades, migrations, and installations as needed to improve system performance, enhance functionality, and meet client requirements. 3. Hardware and Software Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues reported by clients, utilizing diagnostic tools, testing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via phone, email, remote desktop, or onsite visits, guiding them through problem-solving steps and resolving technical issues in a timely and professional manner. 4. Network Setup and Configuration: Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LANs) and wireless networks, including routers, switches, access points, and network cabling, to ensure connectivity and network performance. Configure network protocols, IP addresses, DNS settings, and firewall rules as needed to optimize network performance, security, and reliability. 5. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement data backup and recovery solutions, including automated backup schedules, cloud storage, and disaster recovery plans, to protect client data and minimize the risk of data loss or corruption. Conduct data recovery procedures in the event of hardware failures, system crashes, or accidental deletion, restoring lost data and files from backup archives or recovery tools. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all service requests, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system, documenting actions taken, solutions provided, and follow-up steps required. Generate and distribute reports on system performance, service delivery metrics, and client satisfaction levels to management and stakeholders, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Proven work experience as a Computer Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and technical support. Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), software applications, and networking principles. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Customer service-oriented attitude, with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites for onsite support and service calls as needed.
