Position Summary: The Upholstery Work Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of upholstery work within the company. This includes managing a team of upholsterers, coordinating projects, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The manager will also be responsible for customer interactions, estimating project costs, and ensuring timely completion of all upholstery projects. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of upholsterers. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and quality. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement. Develop training programs to enhance skills and knowledge within the team. Project Coordination: Coordinate upholstery projects from inception to completion. Review project specifications, including materials, measurements, and deadlines. Schedule work assignments and allocate resources accordingly. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth project flow. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control standards for all upholstery work. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer expectations and company standards. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary. Continuously strive to improve processes and techniques to enhance overall quality. Customer Relations: Interact with customers to understand their upholstery needs and preferences. Provide accurate estimates for projects, considering materials, labor, and other expenses. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster repeat business and referrals. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries. Provide proper training on equipment usage and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among team members. Administrative Duties: Maintain records of inventory, project timelines, and expenses. Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and other relevant metrics. Manage budget allocations and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with other managers to streamline processes and achieve overall organizational goals. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Proven experience in upholstery work, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of upholstery materials, techniques, and industry trends. Commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
