Job Description: 1. Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and masking to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality. Fill and repair surface imperfections, scratches, and dents using appropriate fillers, primers, and sealers. 2. Mixing and Matching Paint: Mix and match paint colors according to manufacturer specifications, customer preferences, and vehicle color codes. Ensure accurate color matching and consistency using paint mixing equipment and color-matching tools. 3. Spray Painting: Apply paint coats evenly and smoothly using spray guns, following established painting techniques and safety procedures. Achieve desired paint finish, texture, and gloss level by adjusting paint application techniques, air pressure, and nozzle settings. 4. Detailing and Finishing Touches: Apply clear coats, lacquers, or sealants to protect painted surfaces and enhance durability and shine. Perform detailing and finishing touches, such as buffing, polishing, and wet sanding, to achieve a flawless and showroom-quality finish. 5. Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections, runs, sags, or color variations, conducting quality checks at each stage of the painting process. Make necessary touch-ups, corrections, or adjustments to ensure paint quality and adherence to customer specifications. 6. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while handling and applying paint materials, ensuring proper ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and disposal practices. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, waste management protocols, and safety standards in all painting activities. 7. Team Collaboration and Customer Service: Collaborate with other team members, including denters, panel beaters, and service advisors, to coordinate repair activities and ensure seamless workflow. Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and expectations regarding vehicle painting and refinishing. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in spray painting or automotive refinishing preferred. Proven experience as a spray painter, with a strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and equipment. Proficiency in using spray painting tools and equipment, such as spray guns, paint booths, mixing machines, and drying ovens. Attention to detail, color perception, and artistic skills for precise and accurate paint application and color matching. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
