We are currently seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team in Palakkad. Responsibilities: Point of Sale Operations: Operate cash registers and POS systems to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Scan merchandise, enter prices, and calculate totals for purchases. Accept cash, credit card, debit card, and other forms of payment. Cash Handling: Handle cash, checks, and other forms of payment securely and according to established procedures. Count cash drawer at the beginning and end of shift to ensure accuracy. Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile cash transactions. Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them with finding products, answering questions, and resolving inquiries or concerns. Provide friendly and courteous service to all customers, maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Product Knowledge: Develop a good understanding of the products and services offered by the store. Provide information about product features, pricing, and availability to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions. Sales Promotion: Promote sales and special offers to customers at the checkout counter. Encourage customers to sign up for loyalty programs, rewards cards, or promotional offers. Upsell additional products or services to increase sales revenue. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels at the checkout counter and alert management to any low stock or out-of-stock items. Assist with restocking merchandise and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Security and Compliance: Adhere to security procedures and guidelines to prevent theft, fraud, and loss. Verify identification for age-restricted purchases, such as alcohol or tobacco products. Follow compliance regulations related to cash handling and sales transactions. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other store staff, including sales associates, stock clerks, and supervisors, to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent customer service. Communicate effectively with team members to address customer needs and resolve issues. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role. Strong numerical aptitude and basic math skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions.
