As a cashier, you will be responsible for accurately handling customer transactions while providing excellent service. Your duties will include: Cash Handling: Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Customer Service: Greet customers entering the establishment, handle inquiries, and resolve complaints in a friendly and efficient manner. Provide information about products or services available in the store. Operating Point of Sale (POS) System: Use the electronic POS system to process transactions. Scan items, ensure pricing is correct, and collect payments. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean and orderly. Ensure shelves are stocked and assist with restocking when necessary. Balancing Transactions: Ensure that all transactions are balanced at the end of the shift. Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts. Following Procedures: Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service. Follow proper opening and closing procedures for the cashier station. Requirements: Proven work experience as a cashier or in a similar role Basic mathematical skills Good communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent Additional Skills (preferred but not required): Knowledge of handling POS terminals Multilingual abilities (Malayalam, English, etc.) Familiarity with basic computer applications
