We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented IT Support Engineer to join our team in Kochi. The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, resolving technical problems, and escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed. Desktop Support: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals, ensuring proper functionality and performance, and providing user training and support as required. Software Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and update software applications, operating systems, drivers, and patches on desktops, laptops, and servers, and ensure software compliance and licensing requirements are met. Hardware Maintenance: Perform hardware maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on desktops, laptops, servers, and networking equipment, including hardware replacement, component installation, and hardware diagnostics. Network Support: Assist in the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN connections, to ensure reliable and secure network connectivity. Security Management: Implement and enforce security measures, policies, and procedures to protect IT systems and data from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations. Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes, including data backups, storage management, and disaster recovery planning, to ensure data integrity, availability, and continuity of operations. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, documentation, and inventory of IT assets, configurations, changes, and support activities, and generate reports on IT service performance, incidents, and resolutions. User Training and Education: Provide user training, guidance, and education on IT systems, tools, and best practices to enhance user productivity, efficiency, and satisfaction, and promote self-service capabilities and knowledge sharing. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to procure IT equipment, software licenses, and technical services, and facilitate resolution of technical issues and service requests. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Proven experience in IT support roles, with knowledge of desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and network troubleshooting. Technical proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), productivity software (Microsoft Office, G Suite), and remote support tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users. Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support and service to end-users. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), are a plus.
