As a Chip-Level Technician in Thodupuzha, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other consumer electronics, at the component level. Your expertise in troubleshooting electronic circuits, soldering components, and using specialized tools and equipment will be essential in providing high-quality repair services and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your duties will include but are not limited to: Diagnostic Testing: Perform thorough diagnostic tests on electronic devices to identify hardware and software issues, using diagnostic tools, software utilities, and manual inspection techniques. Component-Level Repair: Repair or replace defective components, such as integrated circuits (ICs), capacitors, resistors, connectors, and other surface-mounted devices (SMDs), using soldering irons, rework stations, and other specialized equipment. Soldering and Desoldering: Demonstrate proficiency in soldering and desoldering techniques, including surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering, to remove and replace electronic components without damaging the circuit board. Troubleshooting: Analyze circuit diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to troubleshoot complex electronic issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective repair solutions. Software Repair: Perform software troubleshooting and repair tasks, including firmware updates, operating system installations, and software configurations, to resolve software-related issues and ensure device functionality. Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on repaired devices to ensure that all components are functioning properly, all connections are secure, and all repairs meet industry standards and specifications. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their device problems, provide repair estimates, explain repair procedures, and address any questions or concerns they may have throughout the repair process. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of repair activities, parts inventory, and customer information using a computerized inventory management system to track repair status, parts usage, and customer history. Workplace Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working with electronic devices, soldering equipment, and hazardous materials, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for yourself and others. Requirements: Proven experience as a chip-level technician or electronics repair technician, preferably in a repair shop or service center environment. Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and troubleshooting techniques, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic devices at the component level. Proficiency in soldering and desoldering techniques, including surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering, using soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and soldering stations. Familiarity with electronic testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers, for diagnosing electronic issues and verifying repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to analyze and interpret technical information and schematics.
