As a Wheel Alignment Technician in Thrissur, your primary responsibility is to perform wheel alignment services on vehicles to ensure optimal tire performance, vehicle handling, and safety. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Vehicle Inspection: Inspecting vehicles to assess tire wear patterns, suspension components, steering systems, and other relevant factors that may affect wheel alignment. Alignment Equipment Setup: Setting up and calibrating wheel alignment equipment, including alignment racks, sensors, and computerized alignment systems, according to manufacturer specifications. Alignment Procedures: Performing wheel alignment procedures using computerized alignment equipment or manual alignment tools. Adjusting wheel angles, including camber, caster, and toe, to align with manufacturer specifications. Tire and Wheel Removal: Removing tires and wheels from vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment. Inspecting tires for signs of wear, damage, or irregularities that may affect alignment. Alignment Adjustment: Making precise adjustments to suspension and steering components, such as tie rods, control arms, and steering linkage, to correct alignment angles and ensure proper wheel alignment. Test Drive and Final Inspection: Conducting test drives or road tests to evaluate vehicle handling and alignment performance after alignment procedures. Making additional adjustments as needed to achieve optimal alignment. Customer Communication: Communicating alignment findings, recommendations, and cost estimates to customers in a clear and professional manner. Answering questions and addressing customer concerns related to wheel alignment services. Documentation and Record Keeping: Documenting alignment procedures, adjustments made, and vehicle specifications accurately and comprehensively. Maintaining detailed records of alignment services performed for customer vehicles. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures while performing alignment services. Using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace. Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and calibration of alignment equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate supervisor for prompt resolution. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a wheel alignment technician or in automotive repair preferred. Knowledge of alignment principles, procedures, and equipment. Familiarity with vehicle suspension systems, steering components, and tire wear patterns. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing alignment procedures. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
