As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Nilambur, your primary responsibility is to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Patient Assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial health status upon admission and throughout their stay. Collecting and documenting relevant patient data to develop individualized care plans. Patient Care Planning: Collaborating with healthcare team members, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to develop and implement holistic care plans based on patients' needs, diagnoses, and treatment goals. Medication Administration: Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians accurately and safely, following established protocols and dosage guidelines. Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and therapeutic effects of medications. Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, at regular intervals. Recognizing and reporting any abnormal findings to the healthcare team. Wound Care: Assessing and managing wounds, injuries, and surgical incisions according to evidence-based practices and wound care protocols. Performing dressing changes, wound irrigation, and other interventions to promote healing and prevent infections. Patient Education: Providing patient and family education on various health topics, including medication management, disease prevention, self-care techniques, and lifestyle modifications. Ensuring patients understand their diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Promoting health and wellness by advocating for preventive measures, such as vaccinations, screenings, and healthy lifestyle choices. Encouraging patients to participate in health promotion activities and community resources. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress notes, and medication administration records, in accordance with legal and regulatory standards. Emergency Response: Responding promptly and effectively to medical emergencies and life-threatening situations, including cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and trauma. Administering emergency interventions and initiating CPR or advanced life support measures as needed. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicating and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care. Participating in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, and care conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Valid registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council. Previous experience in clinical nursing preferred but not required for entry-level positions. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
