As a Dishwasher in Idukki, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Dishwashing: Operating commercial dishwashing equipment, such as dishwashers and pot scrubbers, to clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils efficiently. Hand Washing: Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand when necessary, using cleaning solutions, brushes, and scouring pads to remove food residue and stains. Sanitization: Ensuring that all washed items are properly sanitized and rinsed to eliminate bacteria and prevent contamination. Following established procedures for sanitizing dishes and equipment. Drying and Storing: Drying washed dishes and utensils thoroughly using towels or air drying racks. Organizing and storing clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated storage areas. Trash Removal: Emptying trash bins in the kitchen and dishwashing area and disposing of garbage and recyclable materials in designated receptacles. Keeping the dishwashing area clean and free of debris. Kitchen Cleaning: Assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks, such as sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down countertops, and cleaning sinks and drainage areas. Assistance with Food Preparation: Providing assistance to kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling food trays. Compliance: Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices. Following instructions and guidelines provided by the kitchen supervisor or manager. Teamwork: Collaborating with other kitchen staff members, including cooks, chefs, and servers, to ensure efficient operations and timely service. Communicating effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and workflow. Requirements: No formal education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive tasks. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
