As a Steward in Idukki, your primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining areas, as well as to assist in food and beverage service. Your duties may include, but are not limited to: Table Setup: Setting up tables with appropriate tableware, linens, and decorations according to established standards and seating arrangements. Customer Service: Greeting guests upon arrival, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus. Taking orders accurately and promptly, and answering any questions about the menu items or specials. Food and Beverage Service: Serving food and beverages to guests in a courteous and efficient manner. Ensuring that orders are delivered correctly and timely, and refilling beverages as needed. Table Maintenance: Monitoring tables throughout service to ensure that guests have everything they need. Clearing dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables and resetting them for the next guests. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in dining areas, including wiping down tables, chairs, and countertops. Sweeping and mopping floors as needed, and emptying trash receptacles. Assisting Kitchen Staff: Communicating orders to the kitchen and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food. Assisting with food preparation and plating as needed. Handling Payments: Presenting bills to guests, processing payments accurately, and returning change or receipts promptly. Thanking guests for their patronage and inviting them to return. Compliance: Adhering to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards at all times. Following proper sanitation procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Teamwork: Collaborating with other restaurant staff, including servers, cooks, and managers, to provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth operations. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably as a steward or server. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and etiquette. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
