As a CNC Operator in Malappuram, Kerala, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components and parts according to specifications. Your primary duties will include setting up CNC machines, loading materials, monitoring machine operations, and performing quality checks on finished products. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and ability to interpret blueprints will contribute to the efficient and accurate production of machined parts. Responsibilities: Machine Setup: Prepare CNC machines for operation by loading tools, fixtures, and materials. Install and align cutting tools, collets, and workpieces according to setup instructions. Enter program codes, tooling information, and machine parameters into CNC control panels. Machine Operation: Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations, such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding. Monitor machine operations, including spindle speeds, feed rates, and tool movements, to ensure proper performance. Adjust machine settings, tool offsets, and cutting parameters as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality. Quality Control: Inspect machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and conformity to specifications. Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to verify part dimensions. Identify and address any deviations or discrepancies in part quality, making adjustments as necessary. Tool Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged cutting tools. Monitor tool life and tool wear patterns, recommending tool changes and replacements as needed. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating CNC machines and handling cutting tools. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, production logs, and quality inspection results. Prepare production reports, work orders, and documentation for management review and record-keeping purposes. Requirements: Proven experience as a CNC Operator or Machinist in a manufacturing or machining environment. Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including familiarity with machine controls, tooling setups, and program editing. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and materials commonly used in CNC machining. Strong attention to detail and precision in performing machining operations and quality checks. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machining issues. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, as required. Diploma or certification in CNC machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
