We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled North Indian Cook to join our culinary team at our establishment in Palakkad. The North Indian Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of North Indian dishes, ensuring authenticity, quality, and consistency in taste and presentation. This role requires expertise in North Indian cuisine, a creative flair for culinary innovation, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of North Indian dishes, including curries, kebabs, tandoori specialties, biryanis, and breads, using traditional recipes and cooking techniques. Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards, while also incorporating creative touches and variations to enhance flavor and presentation. Coordinate and collaborate with kitchen staff to organize and prioritize cooking tasks, ensuring efficient and timely preparation of food orders. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times. Monitor food inventory levels and ingredients, and communicate with the management team to place orders and replenish supplies as needed to avoid shortages and wastage. Train and mentor kitchen staff on North Indian cooking techniques, recipes, and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in culinary execution. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop and update menu offerings, specials, and promotions, taking into account seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and market trends. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and preparation of food products, as well as maintenance of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices. Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies that may arise, such as equipment malfunctions or staffing shortages, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to service. Stay updated on current trends and innovations in North Indian cuisine, and incorporate new ideas into menu development and presentation to keep offerings fresh and appealing to customers. Requirements: Proven experience as a North Indian Cook or Chef, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, with a strong knowledge of North Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Creative flair and passion for creating flavorful and authentic North Indian dishes, with a commitment to culinary excellence and innovation. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cooking tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and interact professionally with customers and management. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to meet business needs. Fluent in Malayalam; proficiency in English is an advantage. Certification or training in culinary arts and food safety and sanitation practices is preferred. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
