We are currently seeking a Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team at our restaurant in Palakkad. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff in various food preparation and cleaning tasks. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food and hospitality and are looking to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment. Responsibilities: Assist kitchen staff in preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes under the guidance of the Chef or Cook. Assist in the cooking and assembly of menu items, such as appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, including countertops, equipment, and utensils. Operate kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors, safely and efficiently. Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation of perishable items. Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables according to established procedures. Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils. Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the safety of food products and prevent contamination. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor. Requirements: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions closely. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Team player with good communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed. Fluent in Malayalam; proficiency in English is an advantage. Certification in food safety and hygiene is beneficial but not essential.
