Job Description
GNM / BSC Nursing Staff Job Opening, A GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc Nursing staff nurse provides direct patient care, administers treatments, and maintains clinical records under the direction of doctors and nursing supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
• Patient Care & Monitoring: Check and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure). Provide personal hygiene, feed helpless patients, and care for pressure points.
• Clinical Procedures: Administer oral medications, intravenous (IV) fluids, and injections. Perform wound dressings, catheterization, and oxygen therapy.
• Emergency Response: Assist medical officers during emergencies, ward rounds, and life-saving interventions like resuscitation.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient charts, treatment records, and shift handover notes.
• Ward Management: Keep the patient environment clean, safe, and comfortable. Manage basic ward inventory, equipment, and diet distribution.
• Patient Communication: Instruct patients and families on post-discharge care, medication schedules, and general health guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: A diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) (3.5 years including internship) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing [B.Sc Nursing] (4 years) from a recognized institution.
• Licensing & Registration: Valid active registration with the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred by many hospitals.
• Experience: Open to freshers or candidates with 6 months to 2 years of clinical experience depending on the healthcare unit.
Required Skills
• Clinical Competency: Strong grasp of fundamental nursing procedures, pharmacology, and infection control standards.
• Soft Skills: Empathetic attitude, patience, and clear communication to comfort patients and coordinate with doctors.
• Stamina & Resilience: Ability to stand for long hours, manage high-stress emergency situations, and work in rotating shifts (including nights).
