We are looking for a skilled Porotta Maker to join our team in Kozhikode. As a Porotta Maker, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality porottas in accordance with established recipes and standards. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a commitment to delivering delicious food to our customers. Responsibilities: Prepare porotta dough by mixing ingredients according to the recipe. Knead and stretch the dough to achieve the desired texture and consistency. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into thin, round shapes. Cook porottas on a hot griddle or tawa, flipping them as needed to ensure even cooking. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to prevent burning or undercooking. Brush cooked porottas with ghee or oil to enhance flavor and appearance. Stack and serve porottas in an attractive manner, maintaining presentation standards. Clean and maintain cooking equipment, including griddles, rolling pins, and utensils. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment. Assist with inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and communicating replenishment needs to management. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours. Address customer inquiries and special requests related to porottas, providing friendly and helpful assistance. Requirements: Proven experience as a Porotta Maker or similar role in a restaurant, hotel, or food service establishment. Strong knowledge of porotta preparation techniques, including dough preparation, rolling, and cooking. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Attention to detail and precision in executing porotta-making tasks. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating cooking times.
