We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Captain to join our team in Kozhikode. As a Restaurant Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the dining room operations, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities: Guest Relations: Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and ensure they are seated comfortably. Engage with guests to understand their preferences, address any concerns, and provide recommendations on menu items. Order Management: Take food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently. Communicate orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly and ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks to the table. Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the restaurant's menu offerings, including food items, beverages, specials, and promotions. Educate guests about menu selections, ingredients, preparation methods, and recommended pairings. Service Coordination: Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Monitor order ticket times, prioritize orders, and expedite food and beverage service during peak hours. Upselling: Actively promote additional menu items, specials, and promotions to guests to increase sales and enhance the dining experience. Suggest wine pairings, appetizers, desserts, or specialty cocktails based on guest preferences. Table Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, and dining areas throughout service hours. Reset tables promptly after guests depart and ensure tabletops are clean and presentable for incoming guests. Payment Processing: Present and explain the bill to guests accurately, process payments, and handle cash transactions securely. Resolve any billing discrepancies or payment issues promptly and courteously. Staff Training: Train and mentor junior staff members, including servers, bussers, and hosts/hostesses, on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer interaction skills. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance. Guest Feedback: Solicit feedback from guests regarding their dining experience, satisfaction with food and service, and areas for improvement. Address any concerns or complaints promptly and escalate issues to management as needed. Shift Management: Supervise restaurant operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures, staff assignments, and shift transitions. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and hygiene standards. Requirements: Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Restaurant Captain or similar role in a fine dining restaurant or upscale establishment. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members. Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service standards, etiquette, and procedures. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff. Attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Diploma or certification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
