We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Laptop Technician to join our team in Kozhikode. As a Laptop Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining laptops and other portable computing devices to ensure optimal performance and functionality. Responsibilities: Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Analyze laptop hardware and software issues to identify and resolve technical problems and malfunctions. Diagnose hardware failures, software errors, and compatibility issues through diagnostic tests and troubleshooting techniques. Hardware Repair: Repair or replace defective laptop components such as motherboards, processors, memory modules, hard drives, keyboards, touchpads, screens, and batteries. Use specialized tools and equipment for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of laptops. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and update operating systems, drivers, and software applications on laptops. Ensure compatibility and compliance with system requirements, security protocols, and user preferences. Virus and Malware Removal: Scan laptops for viruses, malware, and other security threats using antivirus and anti-malware software. Remove malicious software and implement security measures to protect against future infections. Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backup operations to safeguard critical data and files from loss or corruption. Develop and implement data recovery strategies to retrieve lost or deleted data from laptop storage devices. Screen Replacement: Replace damaged or cracked laptop screens with compatible replacement screens. Ensure proper installation and calibration to restore screen functionality and visual clarity. Battery Replacement: Replace worn-out or malfunctioning laptop batteries with new batteries of appropriate specifications. Test battery performance and charging capabilities to ensure proper functionality. Keyboard and Touchpad Repair: Repair or replace laptop keyboards and touchpads affected by physical damage, liquid spills, or malfunctioning keys. Clean and lubricate keyboard and touchpad mechanisms as needed. Hardware Upgrades: Upgrade laptop hardware components such as memory (RAM), storage (hard drive or SSD), and wireless network cards to improve performance and capabilities. Ensure compatibility and proper installation of upgraded components. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of laptop repairs, service requests, parts inventory, and customer interactions. Document technical specifications, configurations, and serial numbers of repaired laptops. Requirements: Diploma or certification in computer hardware engineering, electronics, or a related field. Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Laptop Technician or similar role, preferably in a technical support or repair service environment. Strong knowledge of laptop hardware components, architectures, and assembly/disassembly techniques. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting laptop hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools and techniques. Familiarity with laptop repair tools and equipment, including screwdrivers, spudgers, tweezers, and soldering irons. Excellent soldering and solder rework skills for repairing electronic components and circuit boards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and technical team members. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet customer service demands.
