Job Description: As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use in a timely manner. Your primary objective will be to support kitchen staff and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area. Key Responsibilities: Dishwashing: Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils using dishwashing machines or by hand as needed. Pre-Scraping: Pre-scrape and rinse dishes before loading them into the dishwashing machine to remove food debris and prevent clogging. Loading and Unloading: Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring proper placement of dishes and optimal use of space. Operating Equipment: Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions and guidelines. Drying and Storing: Dry and stack clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and sanitation. Maintaining Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize dishwashing areas, sinks, countertops, and kitchen equipment regularly to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a hygienic working environment. Assisting Kitchen Staff: Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, or assembling food trays, during peak hours as needed. Trash Removal: Empty trash bins and recycling containers in the kitchen area and dispose of waste according to established procedures. Adhering to Safety Standards: Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling of kitchen chemicals, usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), and prevention of slip and fall hazards. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen staff and other restaurant team members to maintain smooth workflow and support overall kitchen operations. Qualifications: No formal qualifications required; however, previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen support role is advantageous. Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting, for extended periods. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members. Flexibility to work daytime, evening, or weekend shifts as required by restaurant scheduling. Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
