We are currently looking for a skilled and enthusiastic South Indian Cook to join our culinary team in Wayanad. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, including its diverse flavors, cooking techniques, and cultural significance. As a South Indian Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and taste. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and chutneys. Ensure that all dishes are prepared following traditional recipes and maintaining authenticity in taste and presentation. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food preparation and service. Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times. Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking ingredients to minimize waste and ensure availability. Collaborate with the chef and management team to develop and innovate new dishes or menu items while respecting traditional South Indian cuisine. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in South Indian cooking techniques, recipes, and presentation standards. Ensure that all equipment in the kitchen is properly maintained and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel. Stay updated on current food trends, ingredients, and cooking techniques related to South Indian cuisine. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere. Requirements: Proven experience working as a South Indian Cook or similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hotel kitchen. Deep knowledge and expertise in South Indian cuisine, including traditional recipes, spices, and cooking methods. Ability to prepare and present a wide range of South Indian dishes with precision and authenticity. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Passion for South Indian cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus. Familiarity with the culinary preferences and dietary habits of guests in Wayanad and Kerala is advantageous.
