We are seeking a skilled and experienced South Indian Chef to join our culinary team in Wayanad. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, particularly the diverse flavors and cooking techniques prevalent in the region. As a South Indian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality standards, and contributing to the culinary excellence of our establishment. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes including but not limited to dosas, idlis, vadas, sambars, rasams, curries, and chutneys. Plan and execute menus incorporating traditional South Indian recipes as well as modern interpretations. Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation consistently. Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen. Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering and stock rotation. Train and supervise kitchen staff in South Indian cooking techniques and recipes. Collaborate with the management team to develop new dishes and menu items. Stay updated with current food trends and innovations in South Indian cuisine. Monitor kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Requirements: Proven experience working as a South Indian Chef or similar role, preferably in a reputable restaurant or hotel. In-depth knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Ability to prepare a wide range of South Indian dishes with precision and authenticity. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Creativity and passion for exploring new flavors and culinary concepts. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus. Familiarity with the culinary culture and traditions of Wayanad and Kerala is advantageous.
