Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients under the guidance of the kitchen staff. Follow recipes and instructions to prepare ingredients for cooking. Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using commercial dishwashers. Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, equipment, and utensils regularly to maintain a hygienic and orderly kitchen environment. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed. Stocking and Inventory: Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food, supplies, and equipment. Rotate and restock ingredients, supplies, and kitchen tools to ensure freshness and availability. Assist Cooks and Chefs: Support the kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking by fetching ingredients, assembling dishes, and performing other tasks as directed. Collaborate with cooks and chefs to ensure smooth workflow and timely service. Trash Removal: Dispose of kitchen waste, garbage, and recyclable materials in designated receptacles. Keep trash areas clean and organized, and empty bins regularly to maintain cleanliness and sanitation. Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of food, use of gloves and protective gear, and safe operation of kitchen equipment. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the kitchen supervisor or manager. Assist with Kitchen Organization: Maintain organization in the kitchen by arranging supplies, equipment, and utensils in designated storage areas. Keep workstations clean and clutter-free for efficient operation. Support Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members, including cooks, chefs, and servers, to ensure teamwork and cooperation. Communicate effectively and assist colleagues as needed to achieve common goals. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace conduct. Qualifications: Previous experience as a kitchen helper, dishwasher, or in a similar role in a restaurant or food service establishment is preferred but not required.
