Job Description: As a Steward at [Insert Company Name], you will play a crucial role in supporting the front-of-house operations and ensuring that our guests have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. You will be responsible for assisting the service team, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining areas, and providing attentive service to our guests. Key Responsibilities: Assist with Table Setup: Set up dining tables with linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments before service begins, ensuring that each table is clean, organized, and properly arranged. Greet and Seat Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escort them to their tables, and present menus. Assist with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests whenever possible. Take and Deliver Orders: Take food and beverage orders from guests accurately and efficiently, using POS systems or manual order-taking methods. Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly and ensure timely delivery of orders to guests. Clear Tables and Reset for Next Guests: Clear tables of used dishes, utensils, and glassware promptly after guests finish their meals. Reset tables for the next guests by replacing linens, restocking condiments, and ensuring cleanliness and readiness. Assist with Food and Beverage Service: Support the service team by delivering food and beverages to guests, refilling water glasses, and providing assistance as needed. Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests. Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure that dining areas, service stations, and work areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained at all times. Wipe down tables, chairs, and surfaces regularly and dispose of trash and waste properly. Assist with Closing Duties: Assist with closing procedures at the end of the shift, including clearing remaining tables, consolidating used items, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and utensils. Help with restocking supplies for the next shift. Follow Health and Safety Guidelines: Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of food and beverages, sanitation practices, and personal hygiene. Comply with all safety protocols and regulations. Provide Excellent Customer Service: Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests with prompt and attentive service. Ensure that guests have a positive dining experience. Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other members of the service team, including servers, bartenders, and hosts/hostesses, to ensure smooth and efficient operations and provide exceptional hospitality. Qualifications: Previous experience as a steward, busser, or in a similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues. Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work efficiently and multitask, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, based on restaurant hours and scheduling requirements. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays or carry heavy items as needed. Commitment to upholding cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the restaurant. Willingness to follow instructions, learn new tasks, and contribute to the success of the team. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
