Key Responsibilities: Interpret clients' design preferences and specifications to create custom-made garments, including dresses, sarees, suits, blouses, and other apparel items. Take accurate measurements of clients' bodies to ensure proper fit and proportions of garments. Cut fabric according to pattern templates or design specifications, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency. Operate sewing machines and other stitching equipment to assemble garment pieces, sew seams, and add finishing touches. Perform various stitching techniques, including straight stitching, zigzag stitching, overlocking, and hemming, to achieve desired results. Handle different types of fabrics and materials, including silk, cotton, chiffon, and synthetic blends, with care and attention to detail. Ensure accuracy and precision in stitching, seam allowances, and garment construction to maintain high standards of quality. Make alterations and adjustments to garments as needed to achieve proper fit and client satisfaction. Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues and resolve technical challenges in garment construction. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sewing machines, tools, and supplies, to ensure safety and efficiency in the stitching process. Qualifications: Certification or diploma in Fashion Design, Tailoring, or related field from a recognized institution or vocational training center. Proven experience as a Stitching Specialist or Tailor, with a strong portfolio showcasing your sewing skills and garment construction techniques. Excellent knowledge of garment construction principles, sewing techniques, and stitching equipment. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, and other stitching equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision in measuring, cutting, and sewing fabric. Ability to interpret design sketches, pattern templates, and sewing instructions accurately. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for manipulating fabric and operating sewing machines.
