As a Restaurant Captain, you will oversee the dining experience and ensure exceptional service delivery in a restaurant in Trivandrum. Your role involves supervising the restaurant staff, managing guest reservations, and coordinating service activities to maintain high standards of hospitality. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a passion for providing memorable dining experiences. Responsibilities: Guest Service: Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and assist with seating arrangements. Provide menus, take orders, and offer recommendations on food and beverage selections. Ensure that guests' needs are met promptly and courteously throughout their dining experience. Team Supervision: Supervise the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers, to ensure smooth operations. Assign duties and responsibilities to staff members and provide guidance and support as needed. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, promotions, and service expectations. Order Coordination: Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages. Monitor order tickets, prioritize orders based on guest preferences, and ensure accuracy in order delivery. Address any discrepancies or issues with orders promptly and resolve them to the satisfaction of guests. Guest Relations: Interact with guests to solicit feedback on their dining experience and address any concerns or complaints. Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and seating preferences with attention to detail and sensitivity. Build rapport with regular guests and cultivate a positive relationship to enhance customer loyalty. Reservation Management: Manage guest reservations, including phone inquiries, online bookings, and walk-in requests. Allocate seating based on reservation timing, party size, and seating preferences to optimize table turnover. Maintain an organized reservation book and update seating charts to track availability and occupancy. Billing and Payment Processing: Process guest payments accurately, including cash, credit card, or electronic transactions. Prepare and present checks to guests, itemizing charges for food, beverages, taxes, and gratuities. Handle cash and credit card transactions securely and reconcile sales at the end of each shift. Requirements: Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain, Head Waiter, or in a similar supervisory role in the hospitality industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members. Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to delegate tasks, motivate staff, and resolve conflicts. Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service procedures, menu offerings, and dining etiquette. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism. Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in order processing, billing, and payment transactions.
