Responsibilities: Assist in food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients for use in recipes and dishes. Set up and organize pantry stations, including ingredients, utensils, equipment, and supplies, to facilitate efficient workflow. Prepare and assemble cold dishes, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Monitor inventory levels of pantry items, including perishable and non-perishable ingredients, and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to the kitchen supervisor. Ensure freshness, quality, and proper storage of pantry ingredients, following food safety regulations and guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pantry area, including work surfaces, storage shelves, refrigerators, and freezers. Assist kitchen staff in receiving and storing deliveries of food products, supplies, and equipment, checking for accuracy and quality. Assist with basic food service tasks, such as plating and garnishing dishes, portioning food items, and replenishing buffet stations. Follow food safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food products. Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure effective communication, teamwork, and coordination of tasks. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed. Strong attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all tasks and responsibilities. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy objects, and perform manual tasks associated with food preparation. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
