The Dishwasher will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a hygienic and organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers, sinks, and drying racks, to clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils before loading them into the dishwasher. Use appropriate detergents, sanitizers, and cleaning agents to remove food residue and stains from dishes and kitchen equipment. Monitor dishwasher operations to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Empty and clean dishwasher filters, screens, and drains regularly to maintain optimal performance. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, including clearing debris, wiping surfaces, and disposing of garbage. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling food items. Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations. Handle and store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated storage areas. Assist with other kitchen duties and responsibilities as needed, including sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and restocking supplies. Requirements: No formal education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is an asset but not required. Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects. Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety practices. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
