The Room Service Attendant will be responsible for providing prompt and courteous room service to hotel guests, ensuring their dining needs are met with efficiency and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Food and Beverage Delivery: Take food and beverage orders from hotel guests via phone or in-person and accurately record their preferences and special requests. Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to prepare and assemble orders according to guest specifications and dietary requirements. Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms, adhering to designated service standards and timelines. Customer Service: Provide friendly, attentive, and personalized service to hotel guests, anticipating their needs and preferences. Assist guests with menu selection, offer recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverage options. Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction. Order Accuracy and Presentation: Verify the accuracy of food and beverage orders before delivery, ensuring that all items are correctly prepared and presented. Arrange food and beverages on serving trays or carts in an appealing and presentable manner, garnishing dishes as necessary. Ensure that orders are delivered to guest rooms with the appropriate condiments, utensils, napkins, and other necessary items. Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation of food and beverage items. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the room service area, including workstations, equipment, and service trays. Follow health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate uniforms, gloves, and protective gear as required. Order Taking and Payment Processing: Process guest orders accurately using the hotel's point-of-sale (POS) system or order management software. Calculate and present bills to guests, collect payments, and process transactions using cash, credit cards, or other payment methods. Handle cash, receipts, and payment records in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or food service is a plus. Proven experience (X years) in a similar role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or restaurant setting. Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking, delivery, and payment processing. Knowledge of food and beverage items, menu descriptions, and dietary restrictions. Familiarity with POS systems or order management software is preferred. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
