We are currently seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Academic Consultant to join our team in Ernakulam. The Academic Consultant will play a key role in providing guidance, advice, and support to students and parents on educational opportunities, career paths, and academic planning. This role requires a deep understanding of academic programs, admissions processes, and career development strategies. Key Responsibilities: Advise students and parents on educational opportunities, academic programs, and career pathways available at the institution or other educational institutions. Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' academic backgrounds, interests, strengths, and goals to provide personalized recommendations and guidance on academic and career planning. Assist students in exploring and researching colleges, universities, and academic programs, providing information on admission requirements, application deadlines, and scholarship opportunities. Provide guidance and support to students throughout the college admissions process, including assistance with application preparation, essay writing, interview preparation, and financial aid applications. Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and information sessions on topics related to college admissions, standardized testing (e.g., SAT, ACT), study skills, and career exploration. Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, guidance counselors, educational consultants, and community organizations to promote awareness of academic programs and services. Stay informed about trends, developments, and changes in the field of higher education, admissions, and career counseling, and provide updates and recommendations to students and parents. Collaborate with admissions officers, faculty members, and academic advisors to ensure alignment between academic programs, admissions criteria, and student needs and goals. Maintain accurate and detailed records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations. Provide ongoing support and follow-up to students and parents, addressing questions, concerns, and challenges throughout the academic and admissions process. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience (X years) working in academic advising, college counseling, admissions counseling, or related roles. Deep understanding of academic programs, college admissions processes, standardized testing requirements, and financial aid options. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, and establish trust with students and parents. Excellent listening and counseling skills, with the ability to assess student needs, provide guidance, and empower students to make informed decisions. Knowledge of career development theories, assessments, and resources to support students in exploring and choosing career paths. Familiarity with college admissions software, databases, and resources for researching colleges, scholarships, and financial aid. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
