We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Tyre Retreading Technician to join our team in Palakkad. The Tyre Retreading Technician will be responsible for retreading worn-out tyres to extend their service life and maintain quality standards. This role requires expertise in tyre retreading techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Key Responsibilities: Inspect worn-out tyres to assess the extent of wear and determine if they are suitable for retreading. Prepare tyres for retreading by removing old treads, buffing the tyre surface, and repairing any damage or punctures. Apply new tread material to the tyre surface using retreading equipment and techniques such as hot or cold retreading methods. Operate retreading machinery including buffing machines, tread applicators, and curing presses according to manufacturer specifications. Monitor and control retreading process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and curing time to ensure proper bonding and adhesion of tread material. Trim and finish retreaded tyres to remove excess material and achieve a smooth tread surface. Inspect retreaded tyres for quality defects, such as bubbles, voids, or delamination, and make necessary adjustments or repairs. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the retreading facility. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retreading area, including equipment, tools, and materials. Keep accurate records of retreading activities, including tyre specifications, retread materials used, and production output. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical education or certification in tyre retreading or automotive mechanics is preferred. Proven experience (X years) working as a tyre retreading technician or in a similar role, preferably in a tyre retreading facility. Strong knowledge of tyre retreading techniques, equipment, and procedures. Familiarity with different types of retread materials and their applications. Ability to operate retreading machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing retreading tasks to achieve high-quality results. Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy tyres, operate machinery, and stand for extended periods. Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments during the retreading process.
